25 To Nothing
A song written about one of the great loves of my life, Beach Volleyball. I played in college, played USAVB indoor, played pro outdoor "open division", and then was gravely injured. I was crippled and chained to a bed for more than 10 years, unable to bend my knees, sit, or even to walk. I am now healthy (thanks to luck, several surgeries, and extensive rehab) and once again able to play. This video was shot over last summer, and to make it back this far physically is a blessing and a dream come true! If I can do it, anyone can! I'll keep playing and getting stronger, grateful for every chance I get to do healthy things!
Insomnia
A song written on a long sleepless night. When I can't sleep I try to find something productive to do. This song was written starting with the bass line on a Fender Jazz Bass. It grew from there. I have a degree in Astrophysics, and stars and the night sky have always fascinated me, hence the video. I hope you like it!
Heavens Above Me
The first release from the upcoming album LP2 , this is a song written about the way in which I cope with the adversity that life sometimes throws our way. The way out of all problems is to climb! Special thanks to Gina Dugan Nairn for additional ending background vocals 🙂

A song written back in June about the behavior of negative people and how I am often attacked for pretty much no reason when people feel inadequate. When I get attacked, I work harder, raise my level further, grow stronger, and often get a new song out of it. 🙂

Whether it is drugs, alcohol, phones, FB or other social media, computer games, food, Television, cigarettes, or any other out of control behavior, life is MUCH happier when people can be who they want to be, free of external influence, physical dependency or compulsion!

Beethoven Sonata #8 Opus 13, 1st Movement 320 BPM
NEW! Mar 12, 2017: A recording of a practice session from last week. Pathetique was composed originally at 288 BPM and parts can sound slow at that speed. I prefer it around 320 which is about as fast as anyone plays it in the world. There are some phrasing changes I am making and gradual improvements, culminating in a performance video to be released when I can find more time. It really is true that I never had a piano lesson, proving that anyone can do pretty much anything at a high level, given enough time and practice! 🙂
Pathetique Sonata 1st Movement 320 BPM
May 3, 2016: A compilation of various clips from a practice session last week (April 28 2016) into a coherent whole. The edits are visible as video discontinuities. Eventually I will post an audition piece at the same speed 320BPM, which means continuous footage with no edits. It really IS true that I never had a piano lesson, and I will continue to strive to improve.
